MYKONOS - MAY 22

Un petit tour vers l'église Paraportiani, l'une des plus anciennes des Cyclades. Tout à côté, Petros est en pleine séance de toilettage et gym matinale... Toutes ses plumes sont passées en revue! . . Il faut être beau pour se faire photographier par les touristes. Jocelyne me rejoint et après un petit tour sur le port, où se trouve la petite église Agios Nikolaios, nous longeons la Petite Venise et nous nous retrouvons derrière les moulins, où se trouve la plage de Megali Ammos, aux eaux cristallines. . Nous continuons notre route vers le sude de l'île, où à quelques kilomètres, se trouve la plage d'Ornos, déjà bien fréquentée. . . Nous retournons à Hora à pied, car le prochain bus est dans presque 2 heures. Nous ne prenons pas la route côtière cette fois, mais la route intérieure, très fréquentée. Il y a aussi une multitude d'églises et de chapelles. La particularité est leur toit de couleur rouge. . Nous découvrons un autre moulin restauré avant d'arriver dans la ville. Petite balade dans les ruelles où il y a toujours de petites découvertes à faire, un chat, une église... . . Nous retrouvons Petros sur la place qui est son Q.G. A nouveau en pleine séance toilettage! . Rien ne saurait le perturber. En fin de journée, la lumière sur le port est magique. . . Deux des pélicans sont sur le port, l'un est en pleine séance de pêche parmi les barques colorées. . . . Puis c'est le coucher du soleil depuis les moulins, magique! . . . Et le repas du soir, bien mérité. Un pastitsio, sorte de gratin de macaroni avec viande hâchée, sauce tomate et béchamel, excellent. ................................................................................................... The view over the port is fantastic this morning, the colours are so brilliant. I discover Petros next to the Paraportiani church. It is grooming its feathers with much care . and doing some gym as well. It is a real show. I am spending quite a while watching him, then Jocelyne joins me. The Paraportiani church is one of the oldest in the Cyclades. The Agios Nikolaios by the old port is also a pretty sight. . . We start walking past the windmills and can see a large beach on the other side. It is the Megali Ammos beach, with clear waters. We continue our way to the south of the island . and end up in the Ornos bay, a few kilometers from Hora. It is quite busy there and some people we meet say all accomodation is full, as there is a music festival ftaking place in the coming days. We walk back to Mykonos, as the next bus won't arrive before 2 hours now. We don't walk along the coast this time, but take the inland road, quite busy with traffic. Moreover it is very hot now. We can see so many churches and chapels and even another windmill. Another stroll in town . Petros is sitting by its favourite restaurant... . . . . There is a huge cruiseliner in the port, many tourists in town... . The evening light is fantastic and we can spot one of the pelicans fishing in the port. . . . . Then we go to the windmills for the sunset view. . . . Then it is dinner time. I take pastitsio tonight (macaroni, meat, tomato sauce and bechamel) I do enjoy it a lot and of course, some greek salad with it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pastitsio
